With the production of Christkindlmarket Des Moines, we hope to show attendees how the items they purchase are made. To that end, we have six vendors who will also be demonstrating their craft. We hope you’re inspired!

Dakota Tinworks, Estelline, SD | DEMONSTRATION

Dakota Tinworks is a family-owned business dedicated to making and selling traditional tinware, ornaments, and other Christmas-themed decorations in tin and copper, hand-made exclusively by tinsmith Karl-Josef Schmidt.

Offering: Handmade tin, copper, and brassware of various kinds: tin, copper, and brass Christmas ornaments, tin and copper tree tinsel, tin tree toppers, tin cookie cutters, tin biscuit cutters, tin candle holders, pierced tin and copper candle covers, tin candle sconces, tin cups, earrings using tinplate and copper, tin decorative frames, pierced tin panels in frames, tin candle lanterns. A local, women-owned fiber mill offering demonstrations of a wide range of fiber and textile arts, as well as a selection of alpaca and wool gifts and crafting kits.

Offering: Hand-dyed and naturally-colored yarn spun at Twisted Sunset Sisters Fiber Mill, handmade 100% alpaca dryer balls, drop-spindle learning kits, pin loom learning kits, 3D-printed fiber arts tools (yarn bowls, pin looms, etc.), handmade 100% alpaca felted soap bars, handwoven items such as rugs and towels, handmade knitted and crocheted goods such as hats, scarves, socks, ornaments and other holiday gifts, and project/tote bags for fiber artists with original designs.
