The Iowa European Cultural Connection (IECC), a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non profit, produces Christkindlmarket Des Moines. It’s mission is to connect all Iowans with European traditions, language learning and cultural experiences.

CHRISTKINDLMARKET DES MOINES is a U.S. registered trademark of Iowa European Cultural Connection.

Christkindlmarket Des Moines (CDM) takes place the first weekend of December at Principal Park.

Inspired by a cherished European tradition, CDM provides an enchanting outdoor venue for vendors to sell handcrafted wares and European foods and beverages from traditional wooden vendor huts. Attendees learn about European culture through children’s activities, demonstrations and live entertainment in Yuletide Hall.

Since the first festival in 2016, CDM has grown to become the second largest festival of its kind in the U.S. based on average daily attendance.
